Two thumbs up to the original creator though I've got say that the old versions of DAP were spyware machines! However, they've really done a and now there is NO spyware. They're also listening It's working really well so far!! A long time ago I used Download Accelerator Plus and was happy. It was a good program back then. Today this is only one big adware packet. Never ever will I install this software again. I like the new beta version. It shows that the developers still hard working to improve the software.
The new download window and a download increase makes it worth a look! GREAT program for the way it works etc. I usually ignored the spyware in DAP in version 7. Best UI among the leading download managers.
But the only complain is about the intrusive and irritating adware. The ads were tolerable pre version 7. I think Speedbit should consider re-structuring the adware part. Not only will it increase the user base but encourage more people to buy it. The support for this program is abismal. The program itself was designed well, however implementation leaves much to be desired. I tried futile attempts to make them understand simple english for a problem I had, and they kept asking me stupid questions, things I already mentioned in previous emails.
The behavior for this program, is vastly different than other programs in its class, and I have several documented incidents that this program did NOT do what it clearly was designed for. They actually told me to set my download to "Normal" speed to fix the problem I was having. Yeah, great advice.. I registered this program, that's 30 bucks I will never see again, or make good use of due to the pathetic nature of this program. I worked if you can call it that for weeks getting this group of people not giving them any credit for technicians, they are no better than 1st year college students learning computers to do just one thing.
Actually recreate my experience. I gave them detailed instructions, access to my account for a download, and even told them they could get whatever they wanted for free I may not be the best, but even I know if a customer calls and says they have a problem.. That's the time to move on to something else. Just when you think this program works well, that's when this program will "gotcha". It will fail, and the sad part is..
They basically don't care to help. So, take it from me, this program works.. This is a great program only problem is the adware.
I recommend for users wanting to use a download manager to switch over to a freeware alternative or a non-internet explorer based browser. The new version had changed my settings of IE and evenafter uninstallation the changes remained, which is a nuacence.
Better stick to the old 5. The speed has never been its plus point. But I continue to use it becasue there is no spyware. Sorry but you guys are wrong. This is not the fastest DL manager. Well, try them both and you'll understand. Not a bad product after all, but requires more work to do.
Great program, excellent speed even for my 56k. However one thing could be improved DAP Needs to fix the bug where some downloads get corrupted. Other then that I really have not had any problems great program all around. I've used a number of download managers over time. Unfortunately, it's reliability could be improved. I have tried the non-beta version of DAP on three different people's Windows boxes and it had similar problems to my own machine Intermittent crashes.
For the mean time, i'd prefer to stick to a download manager that has a high level of stability. However, this is a product with great potential. I have always been a fan of DAP from its early days it was simply Download Accelerator back then I have seen the changes over time and like the improvements.
My last version of DAP was 5. Well this latest version 5. This connects to the download source a maximum of 12 times so long as your registered. Other visual differences are the new skin they use now to keep the XP feeling for the 21st century!
Havn't seen many other changes apart from the integration with the new DAP Drive Overal, just keeps getting better. BTW no problems with red X's here neither. Installing this software intermittently causes a red X to show up in Internet Explorer where images should be. The only way I know how to recover from this is to use System Restore. The program is good, but there is a lot better download managers, both freeware and shareware that are tons of times better.
I guess this one is the popular pick among many users, but I suggest that they try other programs of similar sort They will be surprised. Stability seems a bitt of a question with Windows XP. I give it a 3 edging towards 4. I guess that the registered version should be better than this beta. Excelent program.
User friendly and easy to custom to your own needs and resources. It gets even better when you get rid of the ads by purchasing it I give this one a GO. This is basically a great program. I have struck one major problem though. While it is downloading my browser slows to a crawl. I use a 56k modem. Just for you to know - they made "Always resume" a feature that allowed you to resume downloads from sites that doesn't support resume - a paid service!!
Download Accelerator 3. It did what it said it was going to do and that was it. The more recent versions of DA are filled with ads and add an icon in my task tray that I would rather not see. I am glad I kept a copy of that burned to a CD which I cherish to this day.
I have seen a downfall in it's performance on DSL versus Cable modem though. It doesn't seem to exceed it's capabilities like the cable modem did. I miss my cable modem! This program definitely speeds up downloading on some files. But it does no good when the file is corrupt after downloading.
Sometimes it isn't corrupt, but many times I have downloaded large files only to find they are corrupted. This program has serious problems. I have been using this program since build 3. Download speeds are very nice, and I especially like the way you can customize the way it downloads, and add extensions like ISO. The only good thing about it is that you can continue ur download from where u ended from. If ur comp turns off, it will still be there to continue If u get disconnected, it will still be there to continue.
So, get it for that reason only, because there is nothing really good about it.. GoZilla is good, this but this is better. Downloads are fast way fast. It shows that you don't required a gimmick the roar to be good!

Moving mission-critical applications into the cloud is a challenge especially with regard to maintaining speed and application response time as well as available bandwidth. An in-house application is usually controlled and managed by the enterprise IT department who can work on improving its performance.
Such involvement is not available once an application is moved into the cloud. The enterprise IT department has little control over the network conditions at the cloud provider's hosted data center. This lack of control is an important issue which becomes more critical with cloud providers because of the nature of dynamic provisioning. To address these challenges, focusing on application acceleration, rather than network acceleration, is important with cloud-based application deployments.
In the data center, IT can configure SPEEDbit Cloud Accelerator for applications that are about to move to the cloud and then provision another Speedbit Cloud Accelerator with the "user" of the application, be it a branch office, a different data center, an employee device or any type of user for which fast performance of the cloud app is required. Deploying Speedbit Cloud Accelerator into the cloud along with along with the applications will enable a known set of performance standards and configurations, such as application availability SLAs, to be provisioned in the cloud and will bring some level of application control over the remote network back to the enterprise.
