Puget systems gaming computer review

Expanding foam is used inside to keep components from moving, and hot glue is used in particular locations to ensure connectors stay connected. The computer is placed back in the case manufacturer's original packaging, and then this box is placed in a larger shipping box filled with styrofoam peanuts, with about " of styrofoam padding surrounding the inner case box.

Excess, unused hardware is sent along with the system, as well as all documentation and a binder with useful information about the computer. I think this final touch could be improved upon; I was hoping the binder would contain the driver, BIOS, and firmware versions used in the shipped system, but this was not the case; they do include the specific manufacturer and part information for all included components, including minor additions like the brand and type of upgraded case fans used.

The system performs flawlessly. It is astonishingly quiet, even while gaming; you can barely tell it is on. I am very happy with my purchase from Puget, but this level of service and quality finished product doesn't come cheap. It is worth it, to me; I don't have the time or inclination to assemble and test systems any more. So if that sounds like you, I would certainly recommend Puget Systems for your next computer. Joined May 20, Messages How do you like Intel ssd drive? So far the SSD is great. I upgraded to the current firmware without incident it was released while the system was being shipped. It is absolutely silent, and my boot time from hitting restart is around ten seconds. Programs start up quickly. I changed all of the user data folders documents, music, pictures, etc to the 1TB drive.

After Effects program should go on storage not on ssd What about internet security software malware stuff how can you aviod defrag issue with SSD drives. I ordered a Intel SSD drive. Joined Sep 23, Messages 1, Ouch on the price considering that is a low end budget mobo.

But if I was to buy a system instead of build one I'd probably go with Puget as well. I would rather support a small US company than a giant that outsources support to India. Joined Nov 21, Messages 7, That's about a thousand dollars over retail prices for that stuff not counting any MIR or discounts. I've never really understood builders like this. The customers that are educated enough to appreciate the value in some of these components are typically more then capable of building the machine.

Is the thousand dollar premium just for sheer laziness? There really is nothing special about that build other then the components used. Pdwe said:. What about internet security software malware stuff how can you aviod defrag issue with SSD drives. He helped us 7 years ago, too.

I had two issues during set-up and their phone techs were excellent - shout out to Michael and Shawn!!! Nice job! One was my doing - oops, my bad. I converted the only Windows 10 user to a standard user and not an administrator as Admiral Ackbar says, "It's a trap! The other was a driver reinstall. All I can say is, if you truly want a PC that is as reliable as possible with smart folks to support you through the years, call Puget Systems. My build was still running like a champ and I had zero issues with it because they're built to last , but it was damaged in a home smoke fire and thus deemed non-salvageable by my insurance company.

So, I went back to Puget for a new build and configured a new i9, which I'm using to type this review. I've been running it less than a week, but I KNOW that it will meet and exceed my expectations and deliver as promised, because that's how Puget rolls, per my extensive history with the build quality and level of customer support by Puget.

Computer is well-packaged upon delivery. Puget delivers on their promises and you can count on them. They're a great Pacific Northwest American company! After many years of being a step behind in technology, I finally decided to go with a custom built editor for my multimedia projects.

I'm glad I did. Puget Custom Computers gave me everything I expected and more in a high performance video editing computer. I have just completed setup of my third Puget Systems computer. Each experience has been nothing but positive -- from the coaching through the purchase process they never try to "upsell" through my telephone calls during setup, I have been treated as their most valued customer.

The systems are simply the best -- best components, cleanest wiring, and ALWAYS going to extra step for the customer -- including pre-wiring for devices I would install myself. They are willing to tell me the truth when one of my ideas isn't so great, offer solid solutions, and do so with a great spirits -- each person I interact with actually seems to LOVE what they do!

It shows in their work and in the rock-solid computers they build. This is not the first time that I have purchased a computer from Puget systems, and once again they came through with stellar service and a great product.

The ability to watch the progress of the order and build is great, and the quality of the finished computer is amazing. I highly recommend this company.

The systems might cost more than other budget computers, but the difference is quite obvious and it is well worth it. First of all thank you for helping guide us through what we needed. Then you took it from there. The computer is so fast and everything we need.

All of our software installed just fine and the transition from old computer to the new one is seamless! We also loved the manual binder that came with the computer complete with names of those that assembled the computer and tested it!

We really felt taken care of and are enjoying the product! Thank you so much for your thoroughness and making the process so easy!! I have never worked with a better custom-computer builder. Their attention to detail is phenomenal.

They will help you find the best machine for your needs, NOT the most expensive one. I will be buying my next machine from them, too. While the build did take longer than I wished about 1 week , I had no issue with it due to their outstanding overall service.

The status updates were informative and personal. It was great to see my system progress throughout the different stages; to include benchmark testing stats, thermal imaging, BIOS images, and several product pictures.

The system info manual is great, too. Extremely personalized and professional. One thing that stood out was their flexibility and assistance during the build. I originally ordered too many M. He walked me through potential options, providing his informed recommendations, but not pressuring me to go one way or the other. He also helped me later on in the build when I realized I wanted to add an SD card reader; he processed that addition swiftly. The whole process they remained transparent; I've never had such an informative and personalized purchasing experience.

I felt like I had a voice in how my build went and I was certainly in great hands. Thank you Puget Systems, I look forward to the beast y'all built for me! Excellent technical advice, careful selection of components that will work together, painstaking assembly, exhaustive testing and benchmarking, packaging that sets the standard for everyone, thorough documentation, and exceptional support.

Our 4th Puget Systems computer — now in the final stages before shipping — will replace my current one which has provided rock solid reliability and stellar performance for 7 years! I have been purchasing our computers from Puget for 5 years, and always been highly impressed with the computers longevity and performance. Samsung SSDs appear to be the top computer component with absolutely no failures in any of the consensus taken. Again, this is Puget Systems analysis and not a true reflection on the market.
