Sign up for free! Sims 2 running slow? Hello, my sims 2 is running very slowly. I feel like I've tried everything and been through every message board. The loading screens aren't slow, its the moving between players and even after selecting each action there's a short pause. When I click on the object catalogue, for example, chairs the first page takes minutes to load, and then the second page takes time to load.
The same for every piece of furniture. Also with every page for hair and clothing choices. Also every page available on the build mode. I have more than enough space on my driver. I've tried uninstalling all my games and just downloading the deluxe, and it was still slow. I have and never have had any custom content. My sister uses the same discs as I do minus the freetime expansion pack which is the one I play off, and the same laptop, and her sims 2 runs no problem.
As long as your computer meets the minimum requirements of the game, you should be set. If not, no amount of tweaking, cleaning, or voodoo will help the game to run satisfactorily.
