So drivers will be either acquired via PC supplier or some searching would be required. I apologize for the misdirection. If I find a version newer than the one you are currently using I will post it. I just had some success. I found the link for archived drivers and used some trial and error to find the most recent one that listed the GT. The version The card was made by Gainward Bliss but on their website they offer no downloads for the geforce 7 series. I wonder if I try to upgrade to latest version now if it will work or not?
I will create a restore point and give it a go. OK, that didn't work. When I installed latest drivers my main screen which is DVI went srewy, but for some reason my second monitor which is VGA still worked. I think Nvidia should add the GT as an option on the model dropdown of the archived drivers and put the as the most recent version, as the latest drivers just mess things up.
I am just had a thought. Perhaps the latest drivers do work but put my monitor into a mode it doesn't support? My main monitor only supports 60hz refresh. The memory hums along at a speed of MHz by default, so we increased its pace in 10 MHz jumps; , and MHz fell by the wayside easily enough.
Attempts at higher memory speeds caused RivaTuner to complain about "failing hardware" tests. While overclocking the clock speed of the core and memory independently is quite easy to do, getting the two to run overclocked together is a whole other story.
I did try running both the Albatron GTX's core and memory at the maximum overclocked speeds, but that only produced a screen full of artifacts. After much frustration, I found that I had to lower both the core and memory speed quite significantly. Stability required the core to drop down to MHz and the memory to fall back MHz. I suspect that better cooling would have helped, which is almost always the case when overclocking.
Still, Albatron was pretty quick in getting this product out, and heck, if "reference" works, no need to mess with it. The card itself is fairly long, and for those with a lot of obstacles near the PEG slot, you'll want to keep some clearance around the rear of the card.
The end result is a cooler GPU and as a side effect, a quieter system since a Hoover fan is not required. There is also a S-Video out for those who wish to watch their display on a TV.
We'll be pitting the Albatron GTX v Unfortunently, Albatron was unable to send us two cards for SLI performance testing, but we did compare against the twin GTs as those two cards as a pair falls at a similar price point as the lone Albatron GTX. The games used are as follows:. The driver settings were manually configured for AntiAliasing and Anisotropic Filtering enabled 4xAA and 16xAF respectively , and set to "Quality" via the video driver's control panel.
All games were set to their highest allowable game settings unless otherwise noted. Albatron ship along a basic set of software and cabletry with the Albatron GTX videocard so that every feature can be used SLI bracket excluded , but there's nothing else in the box aside from the GTX card to really get excited about.
Albatron GTX Videocard. We were expecting to see a blue PCB since Albatron traditionally uses blue for its videocards, and have been informed by a company representative that custom Albatron GTX's will start popping up in late summer. At If you're lucky enough to get one of these bad-boys, you'd best keep the cables inside of your PC nice and tidy!
Another nice thing for enthusiasts is that the heatsink mounting holes for the GeForce GTX line up with the class videocards which means users can port over existing after market coolers. If you do change the default cooling solution, make sure you find a way to cool the memory modules on the back since they run quite hot as well.
The stock temperature controlled fan is about 50mm in diameter and during testing was almost silent even with the Albatron GeForce GTX overclocked, and under full load! There is no temperature logging function in the drivers, but third party programs like RivaTuner can show what the load temperatures would be like.
